Charlotte vander Borght

Charlotte vander Borght (b. 1988, Belgium) is a Belgian artist who lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. She studied sculpture at Wimbledon College of Arts, University of the Arts London, and at La Cambre – École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Visuels, Brussels (BA + MA Sculpture, La Cambre, 2014). In 2016 she was an artist in residence at WIELS, Brussels. Vander Borght's sculptures are cast in resin, fiberglass, urethane and pigment, and she also makes framed inkjet photographs, collages and printed-fabric works. Her ongoing series Someone, No One, Anyone explores the unknown, drawing on the anonymity of public transportation and on the ways strangers are connected. Her Metamorphosis works, shown at Galerie Timonier in 2024, continue this sculptural language. The photographs and works such as Morning Glory and Portrait (Fabiola) are made from printed images. Her work has been exhibited at venues including Baronian, Brussels; Management Gallery, New York; Mamoth, London; the Sculpture Garden of the Geneva Biennale, curated by Devrim Bayar; A.D. NYC; C L E A R I N G, Brussels and New York; New Space, Liège; Deborah Bowmann, Saint-Gilles; Centre Wallonie-Bruxelles, Paris; Bunk Club, New York; and ProjectRoom WIELS, Brussels. Recent solo exhibitions include a 2023 exhibition at Baronian, Brussels, and Metamorphosis at Galerie Timonier, New York (2024).
